Knight Swap

Difficulty : 1.5/5 (Easy)
Global : 1.5/5 (Decent)

Knight Swap is a minimalist puzzle game in which you only control knight pieces. They move just like in chess, following an L path, and the goal is to rearrange and put them in the correct spots.

There are 100 levels, a few mechanics are introduced like teleportation pads or buttons that make some cells move, but there is no difficulty curve. Or at least I didn’t have the impression the later levels were harder, there were just more things going on… which were not even always mandatory to use. That made the game a bit repetitive to me.
I also felt some levels were unnecessarily “complex”, with many knight pieces to move and most of them being really easy to place. I liked the smaller levels with only 2 knight pieces the most, some of them really require you to think about how you can swap them without one getting in the way of the other. Because otherwise, the only thinking you’ll ever have to do is to deduce which knight piece must be on a button.

Knight Swap is a good game. It offers exactly what it seems to offer, a few hours break with accessible and pleasant puzzles. I would’ve loved to see more small and challenging ones though.
