Outer Wilds – Echoes of the Eye

“But how is it possible to effectively add content in Outer Wilds?”, everyone thought.
Well, Echoes of the Eye is your proof, and what an indescribable pleasure to come back to Outer Wilds!
The DLC brings us to a new place whose hidden existence is perfectly justified. It follows the same principle as the base game: incredible landscapes, intelligent level design, we always collect information to understand what’s going on and be able to progress.
Nevertheless, the huge difference is the radical change of atmosphere after a certain point. If you were afraid of Dark Brambles, multiply that by a lot. I hate everything about horror, whether it’s movies, video games or whatever and I had a lot of trouble giving me the courage to play.
If you are like me, then I won’t lie to you, the first explorations will be absolutely terrifying and you may even be furious that Outer Wilds has become like this.
Especially since returning to a specific place takes longer than in the base game; with fear considerably slowing down your progression, your effective exploration time will be reduced.
There is an option to reduce the frights, but I decided not to use it because I wanted the original experience. And I’d say you should do the same.
Even if you only play in small sessions until you feel comfortable, be brave and go through these first laborious and frustrating explorations.
Fear is part of this DLC, you have to accept and overcome it, even if it’s extremely difficult, especially at the beginning.
It would be a huge mistake to miss that – once again – incredible story.
