The Witness

One of the best puzzle games.

A true open world divided into several areas.
The puzzles are just panels on which you have to draw the correct line. They are generally hard and the solutions often come with pure observation of your surroundings and not just thinking. They are very varied and you’ll never get bored of them.
No tutorial, the game makes you understand its mechanics through increasingly difficult puzzles in each zone and that’s a good thing.

The visuals of the island are outstanding but as far as the story is concerned, there is none. Solving all the areas will unlock the final ones but you’ll never get any context about the island, the statues or anything. There are just useless pretentious audio recordings hidden and that’s all. They went for the funny true ending instead of creating a story so don’t expect anything on this side.

There are also environmental puzzles. I suggest looking for them with a friend because there are lots of them, the island is rather big and they are sometimes well hidden.
