Push The Cat with WASD

Difficulty : 2.5/5 (A bit Hard)
Global : 1.5/5 (Decent)

Push The Cat with WASD is a short puzzle game in which you need to guide a cat on a flag. At first sight, you obviously think about Baba is You; and so I thought it would really be similar.

Well, it’s not really the case. Each level has sentences written in it, and you can move some of the letters in a direction.
W only moves up, S only moves down etc; and your goal is to setup these letters to eventually push the cat on the flag.
So you’re not really playing with words, they are just there for the aesthetic aspect and every movable letter can be replaced by an arrow.

The puzzles are all about spatial reasoning, and that’s the kind of puzzle I’m not good at. Fortunately, the game is well-balanced. You follow a small emotional story and a good amount of levels are free and only there to tell that story.
It gets quite hard sometimes though, I think the difficulty is on point.

There are also very hard levels in a bonus chapter called challenge mode, and yes it’s very challenging.
That’s a shame, I really, really like when games push the difficulty extremely high and I can only praise the devs for this bonus chapter. But these levels just feel impossible to me, the few mechanics of the game make everything so confusing that I don’t really have fun trying to solve them.

Push The Cat with WASD has some good ideas, the story mode is fun and you’ll have a good time pushing the cat.
It’s just unfortunate that, at least for me, the challenge levels feel more like a punishment.
