The Legend of Lumina

Difficulty : 2.5/5 (A bit Hard)
Global : 2.5/5 (Good)
The Legend of Lumina is a short sokoban adventure, you explore a small open world and need to find and gather the powers of 7 animals.
Sokoban adventures are kinda rare, so it’s nice to see games like that.
The game works like a metroidvania: the world is open, but areas still need to be done in a certain order and are thus “locked” until you get the right power up.
There are no enemies and no platforming, everything in this game is just puzzles.
I have to say, for a small scale game like that, I was expecting a chill and very easy experience. But I was wrong, some efforts were put into the puzzles and they are actually challenging! It gets gradually harder and you’ll have to seriously think for a few of them.
The game uses very classic sokoban mechanics, you basically only push rocks or roll boulders/barrels in order to make a path.
Where the game shines is how it manages to use the environment to create smooth puzzles and special interactions depending on what you’re pushing.
I won’t spoil them and let you figure out everything.
I just have a small complaint to make : I find it sad that there’s no secret at all to find. Adding something beyond the borders of the map would’ve been nice for example. You can reach places that should’ve led you outside of the map, but you can’t go in because it acts like an invisible wall.
Well, it’s just an idea because I’m a sucker for meta stuff, but anyway.
The Legend of Lumina is a short, free and fun experience. Every fellow block-pushing enjoyers should give it a try.
Recommended.
